Galerie Sara Lily Perez is welcoming you back to the world of Agostino Perrone with his latest solo exhibition, "Mambo Italiano." Building on his previous show, "Local Spirits", where Perrone took viewers on a global journey through the intimate spaces of hospitality, this new exhibition brings his focus closer to home. "Mambo Italiano" immerses us in the rich and vibrant tapestry of Italian culture and lifestyle, drawing deeply from Perrone’s own roots. By channelling the iconic imagery of Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and the lively, exuberant spirit of the Cha Cha Cha Club, Perrone offers a fresh perspective on Italy's daily glamour and timeless traditions.
In "Mambo Italiano," Perrone's mastery of light and composition is on full display, whether capturing the soft glow of a Roman street at twilight or the dynamic energy of a dance floor. Each photograph serves as a window into a world where every detail—from the tilt of a bartender's hand to the flash of a dancer's smile—narrates a story of culture, tradition, and the simple joys of living. This exhibition is an invitation to savour the essence of Italian life, evoking warmth, connection, and a profound sense of elegance in every frame. Perrone’s unique ability to capture both the grandeur and intimacy of his subjects showcases a sensory feast that resonates with both nostalgia and timeless beauty. His pictures represent a mindset of savouring the simple joys of life, finding beauty in everyday moments, and cherishing the company of loved ones.
