TIME TO SHOP LOCAL AGAIN – NEW TENANTS AND THE FAMILIAR UNIQUE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE AT BIKINI BERLIN

With a cool selection of unique, independent brands, BIKINI BERLIN is a real hotspot for local shopping. Anyone following the current #supportyourlocal campaign will be spoilt for choice at the concept shopping mall. And with the reopening of the stores at the end of April, a number of new additions have extended the offer even further. Joined by seven new temporary pop-up box tenants offering accessories, beauty and fashion, renowned fashion labels Superga and Fred Perry are now permanent fixtures on Budapester Straße. With their unique products, brands like Le Specs, Skin Made and Villa Gaia are also providing customers with the long-anticipated shopping experience they have been missing over the last couple of months. 

 

PERMANENT STORE TENANTS

FRED PERRY

Established in 1947 by Wimbledon champion Fred Perry, the erstwhile sports brand has since developed into one of the most popular streetstyle brands of our time. The iconic polo shirts with the laurel wreath logo are still Fred Perry’s signature look, but certainly not the only women’s and men’s styles available at BIKINI BERLIN  since the 83 m² store officially opened its doors on 19 March 2020. Stone tables and steel girders set the tone of this new store on the ground floor, which has its entrance on Budapester Straße, which fits in perfectly with the look and feel of the concept shopping mall.

SUPERGA

SUPERGA is back! The Italian sneaker brand from Turin has already been a successful pop-up tenant at BIKINI BERLIN and is now back as a new, more permanent fixture. Since May 2020, fans of the sports shoes have been able to try on and of course purchase the latest models at the store on the ground floor. As well as the classic cult models, they also stock sandals and platform sneakers in all colours and patterns.

LE SPECS

Since 1979, Le Specs has been renowned worldwide for its iconic and innovative sunglasses collections at affordable prices. Not only worn by trendsetters and fashionistas in summer, their sunglasses are meanwhile the ultimate must-have accessory all year round. Although celebrities like Beyoncé and Rihanna are ardent fans of the individual eyewear, the affordable cult accessories are also proving a hit with anyone looking for glasses with that certain ‘je ne sais quoi’. From 15 May 2020, concept shopping mall BIKINI BERLIN is welcoming Le Specs to one of its pop-up boxes, where fans can enjoy an exciting shopping experience until 14 September 2020.

EST2020

Quality and sustainability – two attributes that EST2020 combine in their men’s and womenswear collection. With high quality standards and unique designs, the brand is presenting its limited edition collection at BIKINI BERLIN from April until 15 July. A real highlight are the long-sleeved tops for men, which can also be worn as boyfriend styles by women. The design and fabrics of the items are individually selected and the creative process is based on years of experience, combined with zeitgeist and a forward-looking vision. As a special gift to the environment and its customers, EST2020 gives every customer who purchases an item a free ticket for Berlin’s public transport.

LEMON & PINK

Jewellery for everyone – this is aim of jewellery designer Vivien Rahn with her label LEMON & PINK, which soon gained popularity after being sold at flea markets and in her online shop. Handmade by Sergio Engel in Berlin-Kreuzberg, the designs will be available at BIKINI BERLIN until 31 May 2020. Combining classic elements with modern raw materials like natural materials, gemstones and Swarovski crystals, the product palette ranges from elegant hoop earrings and statement rings to layering chains – for a summery, light look that exudes elegance.

SKIN MADE

Made for you: Skin Made offers personalised skincare. Back in 2014 the two founders Dr Lars Rüther and Viktor Balzer came up with the idea of personalised skincare products. Following four years of research and development in cooperation with Dermatest and the Fraunhofer Institute, they established their company Skin Made in 2018. Today they offer a customised facial lotion that is tailored to your skin type and strengthens and restores the skin’s natural balance through regeneration and healing. Based on an analysis of your skin, the suitable skincare product is recommended: until 4 January 2021, this will also be possible in the Skin Made pop-up box at BIKINI BERLIN.

VILLA GAIA 

With the arrival of Villa Gaia by Romy Staib in April, BIKINI BERLIN is welcoming innovative design and traditional handcraftsmanship. For 26 years the focus of the label has been on soft cashmere yarns. Delicate silk and high-quality jersey from the best and most renowned spinning mills in the world are lovingly turned into out-of-the-ordinary individual pieces by hand at their own studio at the Chiemsee lake in Bavaria. Respecting people and the environment is a matter that is very close to the Villa Gaia team’s heart. The collections are made exclusively in Germany, washed at their own laundry facilities with organic detergent and all packaging is plastic-free – at every step of the production process, the label examines how it can minimise the impact on the environment. The sustainable, individual pieces by Villa Gaia can be purchased at the concept shopping mall until 3 August 2020.

NAKARI & LUI SWIMWEAR

With the utmost passion and motivation, the small team behind Nakari & Lui Swimwear works daily to turn recycled fabrics from Italy and Spain into extraordinary swimwear. At its pop-up box from 2 June until 4 August 2020, the young lifestyle label will be providing BIKINI BERLIN customers with sustainable swimwear made from recycled plastic waste that has been fished out of the sea and turned into high-quality fabrics by renowned European companies.

Italian label _untitled_ takes its brand name very seriously. Here the focus is on gender-neutral accessories that accentuate the wearer’s personality instead of putting a stamp on them. This pop-up box tenant blends functionality with aesthetics and gives its products a quirky versatility that is the key to individual style – regardless of gender, age and background. Accessories by _untitled_ are handmade using leather from surplus stock in order to waste as little leather as possible and avoid any unnecessary waste. Until the beginning of June, the label will be presenting its limited modular capsule collection in a pop-up box at BIKINI BERLIN.
