"I found working on this project with Netflix very rewarding. I’m a fan of the show and intrigued by the story it was based on so it didn’t take much to get me on board. Netflix invests in creativity first, knowing that unique art will say more about the show and the network more than any conventional messaging would. I was given creative free reign to interpret the mindset of the show’s main character and the dichotomy of being a super successful international drug dealing business genius at the same time a being a school kid with teenager’s problems. All without being able to tell anyone about it. I wanted to create something that held him as a central, iconic - even heroic - figure but set in a confused and busy world he only thinks he understands and is even less in control off.The piece slowly starts to crumble as overtime as the glue that holds his world together comes apart under the glare of the world’s view. By the end there may be nothing left of either of them...". Chemical X
