Let's get ready for summer - summertrends with Gregor

There’s no doubt about it: summer 2020 is certainly going to be a lot different than how we envisaged it a few months ago. Many holiday trips, celebrations, concerts and major events have been postponed and/or cancelled completely. But that doesn’t mean that us guys shouldn’t make an effort and get dressed up for the occasion. On a leisurely wander around BIKINI BERLIN – wearing my mask, of course – I discovered a number of pieces that have definitely earned their place in our wardrobes this summer.

Combining elegant pieces in a casual way: that’s the preferred look of the fashion-conscious man this summer. Whether he opts for a pair of suit trousers made from a light and airy fabric like linen or thin cotton, styled with a loose shirt or a T-shirt and rounded off with a pair of cool sneakers – the “simple but chic” trend is leading the way in the fashion stakes right now. And that’s exactly what you’ll find at the BAM Berlin store, the perfect place to discover exceptional brands and their statement pieces, such as the label BAKERY SVPPLY that offers fashionable trousers in trendy Italian designs.

Who isn’t dreaming of a summer holiday by the sea right now? But if, due to the current circumstances, you’re planning on a staycation in the German capital this summer, you can still think yourself lucky as Berlin has an impressive 50 lakes, three rivers and eight canals. For the perfect day by the water, I picked out two maritime looks for myself, by the Danish brand SUIT Modern Archives from the LNFA Concept Store. As well as natural tones, green and the Pantone colour Classic Blue are very much on trend this summer. Whether in paired with stripes or prints, you can’t go wrong with these colours.

Sneakers are the footwear of choice once again this summer. And that probably has a lot to do with the fact that they offer the ultimate comfort, even after several hours, and give every look a certain air of casualness. Superga is one of my absolute favourite sneaker brands as they offer both classic and unique models that can be easily styled with any look.

As always, the number one summer accessory is sunglasses: from cat-eye to angular to rimless, anything goes this summer and Australian eyewear label Le Specs has them all.

Music on, world off! No sooner said than done: with the Airy headphones by Teufel, you can easily switch off the world around you and immerse yourself in your favourite summer sounds.

A brand new addition to BIKINI BERLIN is Fred Perry. The label with the laurel wreath logo represents a mix of sportwear and streetwear with a dash of retro appeal. Their classic Bowling Bag makes the perfect everyday companion for a summer in Berlin.

Elegant, but casual – with these looks and pieces, your summer in Berlin is guaranteed to be stylish and anything but boring!
