Every year, BIKINI BERLIN designs a limited-edition Collectable together with a creative talent. The result of this year’s cooperation is an iconic Phone Purse with designer Esther Perbandt.
This latest accessory is available to purchase from 14 March 2022, coinciding with Berlin Fashion Week, and is only available as long as stocks last as it was produced in limited quantities. The statement piece is made from chrome-free, tanned leather and has a strong ship’s rope strap, adorned with handmade teak wooden beads and a sleek metal carabiner. A strong bond with the city of Berlin is something that the celebrated designer, visionary, performer and mistress of ceremonies has in common with BIKINI BERLIN and this common ground is also reflected in the edgy design of the Phone Purse.

In the atrium of the BIKINI BERLIN concept shopping mall, visitors will be able to admire a large-scale creative installation presenting the stylish Phone Purse from 14 March until 16 April 2022.

More about the Phone Purse:
"I actually made precisely this purse for one of my fashion shows many years ago because I needed to keep a close eye on my mobile phone timer so I could send the models down the runway at just the right second. But I also needed to ensure that my hands were free because I was still making last-minute adjustments to the outfits. Ever since then, people have been asking me about my Phone Purse on a daily basis, also when I was taking part in the US TV show ‘Making the Cut’ with Heidi Klum. This cooperation with BIKINI BERLIN means that I can now finally produce this unique piece and make a lot more people happy," says fashion designer Esther Perbandt about the purse’s creation process.
The black purse can be casually slung across the body. Its card slots on the back are another practical touch, enabling you to keep essential items like your ID or bank card close and safe next to most standard smartphones.
Esther Perbandt is following on from William Fan, who designed the previous two successful BIKINI BERLIN cooperations. In the past two years, this has resulted in timeless classics: the BIKINI BERLIN Birthday Bag (2019) followed by the Key Wallet (2021), which also references the Birthday Bag’s minimalistic and urban design.
