First visitor numbers for BIKINI BERLIN opening weekend

With more than 294,000 visitors between Thursday and Sunday, the long opening weekend of BIKINI BERLIN exceeded all expectations. Germany’s first concept mall opened on 3 April 2014 and celebrated with a four-day shopping marathon including Sunday trading on 6 April.

“We are delighted that BIKINI BERLIN has been so incredibly well received by the people of Berlin. With BIKINI BERLIN our goal is to build a bridge between the city and nature, consumerism and relaxation. The visitor numbers show that we are successfully responding to contemporary needs with this urban oasis,” says Kai-Uwe Ludwig, Managing Director of Bayerische Hausbau.

“We are particularly happy about the success of our Sunday trading day, for which, in addition to our opening, we also have the entire City West to thank,” affirms Ted Walle, Centre Manager of BIKINI BERLIN.

The numerous visitors were impressed by the new shopping location opposite theKaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the architectural highlights like the 14 x 4-metre panorama window with direct views of the monkey enclosure and the 7000 m², freely accessible rooftop terrace with views of the Berlin Zoo and its animal kingdom.

In addition to the unique architecture, BIKINI BERLIN, unlike regular shopping malls, presents a special selection of carefully curated and coordinated boutiques, concept and flagship stores as well as gastronomy and service providers.
