Berlin-based artist duo Stills & Strokes, renowned for its eye-catching collages, is bringing the joys of Christmas to the BIKINI BERLIN concept shopping mall from Saturday, 26th November: for a space-spanning installation they have created a special BIKINI BERLIN wrapping paper. It will be presented both in front of the panorama window as well as in the entrance areas as a 45-metre long, floating strip and will be getting shoppers into the festive spirit with its colours and artistic design.
But instead of classic festive patterns, the look is strikingly eye-popping. Inspired by pop-art, vibrant colours and attention-grabbing patterns run through the entire design. The golden gifts, which are brought to life as fun figures, form a contrast to regular Christmas designs and are the central element.
And visitors to BIKINI BERLIN can take the creative gift wrap home with them: from 26th November up to and including 24th December, customers can have their purchases gift wrapped free of charge for them at the wrapping station, or wrap them themselves – with a choice of three different designs. The gift-wrapping station on the ground floor will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 10:00 am until 8:30 pm, as well as on the two Sunday shopping days. Please note the shorter opening times on 24th December: from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
To ensure shoppers don’t go hungry or thirsty, there will be four festive stalls at the entrance areas of the ground floor. Wohlfarth-Schokolade will be offering delicious chocolate creations, Berliner Winter will be keeping the concept shopping mall’s customers warm and toasty with its hot alcoholic drink and Emory’s Cookies will be serving up homemade biscuits. And those who prefer traditional festive treats like punch should stand in line at the Rock Paper Café stall.
The brains behind Stills & Strokes are Melanie Homann and Stefan Vorbeck. With their loud, vibrant colours and utmost precision, they put our perceptions to the test by creating their own brightly coloured worlds and, in a tongue-in-cheek way, bringing objects to life in the stories they tell. The artist duo from Berlin uses all kinds of techniques and materials – and is on a permanent quest to find new ways of perceiving and presenting BIKINIBERLIN.DE things.
