Seeing fashion not only as a part of our everyday lives, but also as an integral part of our culture and economy – that is the mission of the Fashion Council Germany which, since 2015, has been promoting German fashion design in the same way that countries such as France and Britain have been doing as a matter of course for many years now.
With Christiane Arp as its president, the national initiative represents interests like sustainability and innovations in the fashion industry, is committed to the joint management of national activities and strengthening the perception of German design nationally and internationally and supports aspiring talents with great creative potential. Individual mentoring programmes enable young designers to turn their ideas into collections and establish their own companies.
Initiatives such as workshops, round table talks and the German Press Days regularly take place at Bikini Berlin for professionals and FCG members. And customers can look forward to pop-up stores selling designs by selected German fashion designers on the following dates in 2018: 6-9 June, 8-11 August and 10-22 December.
