As part of the Irving Penn: Centennial exhibition to celebrate the one-hundredth anniversary of Irving Penn’s birth, C/O Berlin is presenting a Vogue Ball for the first time, under the direction of Zueira Mizrahi who is a member of the “House of Mizrahi” voguing family.
Influenced by the magazines, catwalks and models of the glamorous fashion world, voguing originated in the 1960s and 70s as part of New York’s gay, transsexual, afro and Latin American subculture. Voguing is loud, expressive and more than just a style of dancing.
Inspired by Irving Penn’s countless covers for Vogue, the dancers will gather at C/O Berlin to translate the fashion shots, portraits and still lifes by the photographer of the century into the typical voguing movements and poses.
Tickets cost 15 euros and are available from 1 June 2018.
The after-show party will be taking place at the 808 Club at Bikini Berlin from 10:30 pm. With your C/O event ticket you will be entitled to discounted admission.
