Japanese experts in tea cultivation, production and trade will be on hand to answer questions and introduce participants to the ins and outs of Japanese green tea culture.
On a heated table (or ‘hoiro’ as it’s known in Japanese), tea masters will be giving live demonstrations of the age-old ‘temomi’ process, the art of rolling and kneading the steamed raw tea by hand, and showing how matcha is traditionally prepared.
The demonstrations will take place on Monday and Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and there will be tea tastings on Monday and Tuesday, every hour between 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm, as well as on Wednesday at 11:00 am and 12:00 noon.
Participation is free of charge.
