The deep blue sea is a source of great fascination for us all. But something that’s also taking our breath away (for all the wrong reasons) is the fact that our oceans are literally drowning in plastic. But the team behind aava swim wants to help change the tide: with their designs, they celebrate the beauty of the ocean. Not only with eye-catchingly beautiful looks, however, but also with their commitment to preserving its vital ecosystem.
Their bikinis and swimsuits are made from sustainable fabric reclaimed from recycled plastic found in the ocean. Or to be precise: from 78% Econyl and 22% elastane. Econyl is made from reclaimed ocean waste, like old plastic bottles and fishing nets.
aava swim is very consistent with its mission: from the product to the packaging, everything is recycled, cooperation partners have to meet the company’s own ecological and ethical standards and the label produces only according to demand. By doing so, the young company not only aims to reduce the waste of resources, but also actively prevent it.
With its attention to detail, the designs of the collection really stand out. In different colours and with exciting styles, you can choose from a selection of classic, sporty or playful looks.
You can visit the aava swim pop-up box at Bikini Berlin until 29 July.
