BIKINI BERLIN PRESENTS NORDIC DESIGN EXHIBITION, PHOTO GALLERY AND GUIDED ARCHITECTURE TOURS DURING DESIGN MILE 2015
The fifth edition of Designmeile Berlin (Design Mile Berlin) is taking place from 8th – 11th October 2015 and will, as usual, extend from Stilwerk to BIKINI BERLIN. Under this year’s motto “New Nordic Design” the concept shopping mall is hosting the “Nordic Design Selected” exhibition in cooperation with the Nordic embassies of Berlin, a photo exhibition by the BFF Berufsverband Freier Fotografen und Filmgestalter (German Association of Freelance Photographers and Filmmakers), as well as guided architecture tours around the building complex.
Together with the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden BIKINI BERLIN is presenting the exhibition “Nordic Design Selected” to celebrate Designmeile (Design Mile) 2015. On an area of around 200 m² on the ground floor, selected design items including furniture, interior design, jewellery and décor by renowned Nordic designers will be shown and sold. The exhibits by a total of 16 companies including Holmegaard, Fjord Fiesta, Hövding and Vaja stand out with their simplicity, minimalism and functionality. On Friday 9th October at 6:30 pm there will be an official welcome by the ambassadors of Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as representatives from BIKINI BERLIN.
In addition to this, visitors can also look forward to a photo exhibition by the BFF Berufsverband Freier Fotografen und Filmgestalter (German Association of Freelance Photographers and Filmmakers). On the second floor of the concept shopping mall the exhibition “BFF Triebwerk – 100 Photographers 2 Exhibitions” is showing large-format exhibits of the 2015 members’ exhibition and Wildcard, a virtual photography exhibition. On Thursday 8th October at 7:00 pm the exhibition will be officially opened.
The line-up is being rounded off by free guided tours of the BIKINI BERLIN building complex. Anyone interested in design and architecture can register for free to take part in one of the tours on Saturday 10th October at either 11:00 am, 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm. Participants can look forward to gaining exciting insights and unexpected perspectives into one of the most respected revitalisation projects in the City West.
