Next round of design collaboration - Bikini Berlin Key Wallet designed by William Fan

Following last year’s success, 2021 will see the second instalment of the successful cooperation between Berlin shopping icon BIKINI BERLIN and German designer William Fan. The result of the collaboration is a Key Wallet in the iconic design of the Birthday Bag from 2019. The bag was designed by William Fan and launched by BIKINI BERLIN to celebrate the concept shopping mall’s fifth birthday. This year’s cooperation also marks the start of the BIKINI BERLIN “Collectables” concept: every year the concept shopping mall will design an item with a different designer and launch it in the mall.

“BIKINI BERLIN has been bringing functionality, urbanity and dynamics to Berlin’s City West since 2014. We are delighted that the cooperation with William Fan is being extended in 2021. The resulting Key Wallet is a unique accessory that bears the designer’s unmistakeable hallmarks,” says Antje Leinemann, Managing Director of BIKINI BERLIN, about the second round of the collaboration.

Traditional tailoring paired with Nordic simplicity and Asian influences, dramatically draped and opulently minimalistic – William Fan’s designs are all about contradictions and exude the signature style that has catapulted him into Germany’s fashion elite in the shortest time. And BIKINI BERLIN is a byword for urbanity and embodies the vibe of the capital like nowhere else. The Key Wallet combines the attributes of both. It consists of two separate pouches affixed onto a long loop. Keys can be attached to the two gold rings, while compartments for cards and money offer additional storage options. The Key Wallet can be carried around the neck or across the body. And the urban print will be launched in two colour variations: Dark Blue-Silver and Coral. The latter is the mall’s signature colour.

William Fan, a favourite on the German fashion scene, explains: “For the BIKINI BERLIN Birthday Bag, I wanted to create a simple classic that could be worn with all kinds of looks and outfits. And now I have been able to design a matching Key Wallet that stands out with its functionality and clear design.”

The sale and online launch will begin during Fashion Week on 18.01.2021. All BIKINI BERLIN customers can purchase the limited-edition Key Wallet for 45 euros in the concept shopping mall (only as long as stocks last).
